Built by experience
Projects like The Hills in Arrowtown and many more are part of our project stable. Each project comes with its own unique challenges and moments. Different skills and techniques are often required.

This is where experience counts. This is where Turf Shapes shine.

Golf Course Projects
Waimairi Beach Golf Club, Christchurch
Like most spaces in Christchurch, the treasured local - Waimairi Beach Golf Club, was devastated by the 2010-2011 earthquakes.
A serious overhaul of the grounds was needed and the club undertook to become the driest course in Canterbury (especially during winter). During that time, Tom worked under Grass Limited.
In more recent times, Turf Shapes has been involved in the ongoing drainage projects at the club to help make this goal a reality.
The Hills, Arrowtown
Working in consultation with golf course consultant and designer, Darius Oliver, Tom helped bring to life the new par three short course at The Farm, part of The Hills Golf Course in Arrowtown.
Tom provided shaping and construction management for the course and has been the contractor of choice for any alterations and ongoing projects.
In an article featured on Golf Course Architect, Oliver describes the course as a "choose your own adventure style layout". He also credits Tom and the team for working "tirelessly through some difficult conditions without ever losing focus, or enthusiasm."
Boulcot's Farm Heritage Golf Club, Lower Hutt
Established in 1892, Boulcott was the first golf club in the north island and only the third in the entire country. Since that illustrious start, it has become a well-known and much-loved sporting fixture for generations of golfers.
Turf Shapes worked alongside architect Kristine Kerr of Kura Golf Design to add a new putting green and practice area for the recently completed clubhouse.
